what we've been up to lately...

it's been a tad busy 'round these parts as of late.  summer has come and gone...praise God on both accounts.  and a new school year has begun!  sadie started 3rd grade and tessa has officially leaped into the big girl zone and started kindergarten!  jack & i are enjoying our days going for walks, playing with super hero's and hanging out.  :)

and as of summer '11, i started back in school too.  whew!  this summer i knocked out 12 hours and this fall i'm knockin' out 9 more.  my goal is to get a few more nursing pre requisites outta the way and apply to the nursing program in spring '13.  in the mean time, i'm taking those oh-so-annoying core classes so when i'm working as an rn, i can move from my associates in nursing to my bachelor's in a snap!  it makes me tired and motivated at the same time just typing all that.

this summer we...

  • got tan lines
  • ate lots of hot dogs & ice cream
  • started school/got ready for school
  • hung out with friends new & old
  • spent time with beloved family members
  • wore out our flip flops
  • started new relationships with Jesus (sadie!)
  • found a church home (agua dulce baptist church)
  • went to a plethora of weddings
  • celebrated 9 years of marriage

here's a glimpse at what we've been doing...

happy are those who have the God of Israel as their helper,
whose hope is in the LORD their God.

blessed day

it's been a long time since i posted anything, but this one is blog worthy!

our sweet sadie gave her life to Christ this summer when my sweet friend, farica,  offered to take her & tess to vbs (vacation bible school).  we missed the first couple days, but by wednesday, the girls were there and all about it.  well...sadie was, tess...not so much.  that's a whole other story.  that day same day, when sadie got home she said she had something to tell me.  big news!!!  all the seeds that had been planted up to that point had finally sprouted and and through the encouragement of the sweet leaders at fbc orange grove, sadie prayed the prayer of salvation...asking Jesus to forgive her of her sins and ask Him to be the leader of her life...for the rest of her life.  (sadie's words :)

there had been many conversations between sadie, tyler & myself about Jesus dying on the cross for us  and what it means to have a personal relationship with Him.  until that day whenever sadie had mentioned her salvation and wether she was or was not saved, there was noticeable doubt.  but that wednesday i had such a peace about her news and she was so confident in what had happened.  praise God for my new little sister in Christ!!!

the next step would be baptism and she knew it!  she was so ready to be baptized and wanted it to happen asap in the pool.  why not?  so many others have been baptized here at camp wether in the pool, pond or lakeside.  well, summertime out here at camp is super busy and before we knew it, summer was over and school was in session.

long (awesome) story short...sadie was baptized today by pastor chris dupree at agua dulce baptist church!  to God be the glory for such a blessed time in our lives.  not only was she baptized by a dear friend and new pastor of our "new to us" church, but so many of our favorite people were there to witness this amazing event!

here is the video...

...if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.    romans 10:9

God is good all the time...and when He's not, He's great.

have a fantastic week!
