these are a few of my favs from our latest photo session with the lovely jade payne of journey tree studio.  it has been ridiculously busy around here.  too many goings on to recall.  i am going to try to get back into blogging.  originally, it was a way to document our lives and i still want that to be it's purpose...with a few other posts sprinkled in.  with spring break just around the corner, i might have some time for a few new posts.  maybe...

what we've been up to lately...

it's been a tad busy 'round these parts as of late.  summer has come and gone...praise God on both accounts.  and a new school year has begun!  sadie started 3rd grade and tessa has officially leaped into the big girl zone and started kindergarten!  jack & i are enjoying our days going for walks, playing with super hero's and hanging out.  :)

and as of summer '11, i started back in school too.  whew!  this summer i knocked out 12 hours and this fall i'm knockin' out 9 more.  my goal is to get a few more nursing pre requisites outta the way and apply to the nursing program in spring '13.  in the mean time, i'm taking those oh-so-annoying core classes so when i'm working as an rn, i can move from my associates in nursing to my bachelor's in a snap!  it makes me tired and motivated at the same time just typing all that.

this summer we...

• got tan lines
• ate lots of hot dogs & ice cream
• started school/got ready for school
• hung out with friends new & old
• spent time with beloved family members
• wore out our flip flops
• started new relationships with Jesus (sadie!)
• found a church home (agua dulce baptist church)
• went to a plethora of weddings
• celebrated 9 years of marriage

my baby man is three!!!

three years ago today, jack wyatt grantham was born.  i went into natural labor (imagine that!) three days before our scheduled c-section.  that was new for me because with sadie, i was induced, and tess was a scheduled section too...but she stayed in until it was time.  :)

so, my fabulous doctor decided to do the section that day!  (i was already a 2 :)  he was delivered at 37 weeks and 3 days.  should be fine, right?  well, when he came out (glorious!!!), his breathing was labored and the doctors didn't like that.  i got to give him some kisses and then they took him into the nursery.

quickly he went from the "regular" nursery to level 1 nicu.  diagnosis...he had a surfactant deficiency.  poor bub was hooked up to a cpap at first and then upgraded to a nasal cannula.  plus a feeding tube.  God held us and blessed us during that time.  and a week later, we came home!

jack's almost 3!

over this past weekend my family came down to celebrate jack's upcoming 3rd birthday.  we had intended to par-tay on saturday, but jack woke up with a nasty virus.  :(  so we sipped gatorade and crunched on saltines instead.  boo.

thankfully it didn't last long & we were able to celebrate on sunday.  here are some pics!

thank you mimi, sarah and stephen for coming down and showering him with gifts!  it was a great weekend minus the throw up.  ;)
